Find Lamar County Traffic Court Records

Start with the ticket itself. It names the exact court handling the citation, which matters because Lamar County Justice Court and the municipal courts run on separate tracks. Lamar County traffic court records show that court, the date or setting tied to the ticket, and the case activity it has recorded, so follow the court printed on the citation rather than assuming by location alone. Keep payment and docket access separate, too: a receipt or a vendor payment page tells you nothing about what the court record actually says.

Traffic Case Records in Lamar County

Which office holds a Lamar County traffic record depends on the court. Justice Court can keep traffic filings. So can a municipal court, County Court, or the Circuit Clerk. Each works within its own category. The citation names the controlling court, and that is where a search starts.

Justice Court serves as the county's main official traffic-court source. Purvis, Sumrall, and Lumberton run their own municipal courts for city tickets. The Lamar County Circuit Clerk also publishes code families. They include TR for traffic and DT for DUI.

The Lamar County Justice Court page covers the court's traffic work. It also lists accepted payment methods.

Lamar County traffic court records Justice Court information

Justice Court offers a county-level route to a Lamar County traffic docket. But a ticket naming a municipal court belongs with that city's office instead.

Lamar County Justice Court Traffic Agency Mix

Lamar County Justice Court handles citations from several agencies. The Sheriff's Department is one. Others include Mississippi Highway Patrol, the Constable, the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, the Mississippi Motor Carrier Division, and the Mississippi Department of Transportation. Its docket work also covers DUI and misdemeanors. Criminal contempt, game-and-fish matters, felony bonds, and preliminary hearings are on the list too.

Naming the issuing agency helps a Lamar County clerk route a request. Still, the court printed on the citation controls.

Guessing from the roadway or the county name will misroute a Lamar County ticket. Read the court line first. Note the citation number, the printed setting, and the payment instructions before calling. If the court line is unclear, give the clerk the issuing agency and the citation date. Then ask which Lamar County office keeps the record.

Lamar County Traffic Ticket Lookups

Lamar County offers no official public citation-search form. The reliable lookup path runs through the citation, the named court, and a clerk-assisted request. PAMEC can display eligible, non-restricted Circuit or County material. It is not a universal Lamar County traffic-ticket search, though. A blank result there never proves a Justice Court or municipal citation is missing.

  1. Read the citation for the court name, citation or ticket number, printed court date, county, and issuing agency.
  2. Record the name exactly as printed and any case code or receipt number shown by the Lamar County court or officer.
  3. Call the court named on the ticket, or visit its counter, and ask whether the citation has posted and what record or setting is currently shown.
  4. Use PAMEC only when the citation has reached a participating Lamar County Circuit or County Court and the material is non-restricted.
  5. Ask the Lamar County or municipal clerk for the current date, payment route, response instruction, and copy procedure for the identified citation.

Skip sensitive identifiers in a general Lamar County inquiry. Do not hand over a driver's-license number, full birth date, Social Security number, or similar detail unless the court directs you to a secure channel.

Lamar County Traffic Court TR and DT Codes

The Lamar County Circuit Clerk lists TR for traffic and DT for DUI among its criminal division codes. Treat them as routing clues. A code alone is not a full case-number format. It is also not proof that every record is searchable online. The docket entry, any order, and clerk confirmation tell you more.

TR
Lamar County Circuit Clerk code for traffic.
DT
Lamar County Circuit Clerk code for DUI.
Docket entry
A dated record of case activity that may point to a citation, order, payment, continuance, or judgment.
Non-restricted case
Electronic material that PAMEC terms allow from a participating court, subject to the system's access rules.

Traffic Court Dates in Lamar County

The date printed on a citation is only the first clue. It points to a Lamar County court setting. It cannot replace the newest docket entry or a clerk's confirmation. Payments, resets, continuances, and orders can all shift a traffic case. Before you drive to a courthouse or trust a recurring calendar pattern, confirm the details with the issuing court. Get the exact date, time, court, and location.

Lamar County Justice Court Tuesday Traffic Rhythm

Lamar County Justice Court publishes a standing Tuesday schedule. Misdemeanor pleas are set at 10:00 a.m., and misdemeanor trials at 1:30 p.m.

That rhythm is not a ticket-specific setting. It does not automatically cover a traffic citation. It also does not reach a municipal case or every Justice Court matter. A Lamar County court date should come from the citation itself. A current docket or calendar entry works too. The court can also confirm it.

When a date seems changed or missing, ask the named court. Ask which entry, order, or new setting now controls. A continuance or reset notation can appear before the replacement date does. The court can explain the record status. There is no need to guess an outcome from a Tuesday pattern.

Paying a Ticket vs Fighting It

Lamar County Justice Court takes traffic citation payments in person. Hours run Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Cash works, and so do cashier's checks, money orders, and credit cards. Online payment is available too.

The court does not publish a fine schedule. Its payment page never displays the payment link in plain text. There is also no single published procedure for contesting every citation. So read the printed instructions on your ticket. Then call the named court. Confirm the current Lamar County response path before you act.

Missed or uncertain setting: Do not assume that a recurring Lamar County schedule, an online payment page, or an old citation date controls. Contact the court named on the ticket promptly and ask what current docket entry, order, payment status, or setting governs the case.

Lamar County Traffic Payment Endpoint and Docket Search

The NCourt payment endpoint is a vendor route tied to Lamar Justice Court. Check it against your ticket and the court first. It is not a Lamar County docket search. No public citation-search form appears there, and it cannot tell you the status of a citation that belongs to a city municipal court or any other court.

Confirm the Lamar County court and the citation route first. Only then is the payment endpoint useful. It is not evidence that a full Lamar County traffic case file is searchable there.

Two Records: Court File and Driver File

Two different records sit behind every Lamar County traffic ticket. One is the court file. The other is a state licensing record, kept by a different office entirely.

For a citation's court date and case activity, the court file is what matters. It can hold the citation, the charging entry, a plea, an order, payment, a continuance, and judgment. It also holds other court activity. The licensing record is a separate matter. It never replaces the issuing court's file.

Lamar County Municipal Traffic Court Routes

Purvis, Sumrall, and Lumberton each run their own municipal court. That makes three separate Lamar County traffic-record routes. Those routes sit besides the county courts. Take a Lamar County municipal ticket first to the city court or clerk named on the citation. Do not go automatically to Justice Court or PAMEC.

The state directory lists contact routes for the Purvis and Sumrall municipal courts. Lumberton's City Hall is the stable starting contact for that city. A city clerk can explain its current record, calendar, copy, and payment procedure. Nothing about Justice Court's Tuesday schedule or its payment statement carries into a municipal case.

A municipal matter can later move by appeal or another process. Then ask which court holds the newer record. Keep the original citation and municipal case information handy. Have them ready while you ask.

Traffic Record Copy Fees

Lamar County publishes no official traffic fine schedule. It publishes no traffic copy fee or certified-copy fee either. The Justice Court civil filing schedule will not fill that gap. It covers civil filing and post-judgment charges rather than traffic citations.

Call Justice Court, or the applicable municipal clerk, with your citation number in hand. Ask for the current payment amount, plain-copy fee, certified-copy fee, postage, and turnaround time.

Lamar County Traffic Record Retention Clue

The Mississippi Department of Archives and History municipal retention schedule treats municipal court docket summaries and minutes or orders as permanent records. Traffic case files stay for three years after audit. That clock follows disposition or payment. This is a statewide municipal schedule.

It does not prove that any particular Lamar County ticket is online, unexpired, or held by a county clerk. For a Purvis, Sumrall, or Lumberton request, ask that municipal clerk about current custody, retention, destruction, copy, and certification practice. A Lamar County Justice Court citation takes a different path. It goes through the Justice Court route instead. The court named on the ticket marks the practical boundary between these records paths.
