How the Lamar County Court Calendar Works
There is no single public grid listing every party, day by day, for Lamar County. Instead, the state publishes term periods for Circuit and Chancery, and county court pages sketch a few general rhythms. A case setting is the narrow piece: the date, time, court, and purpose entered for one matter. The current docket supplies that detail, along with any notice the court sends.
So begin with the court named on your summons, citation, order, receipt, or prior docket sheet. For Circuit and County Court settings, the Circuit Clerk is the first stop. Chancery has its own clerk. Justice Court and each municipal court keep separate access paths of their own. Keeping these apart matters, because a published Lamar County term is only a window, not a confirmed hearing date.
Lamar County Circuit Court Terms
The Secretary of State's 2026 Circuit Court and Terms calendar lists ten Lamar County Circuit Court terms. Those dates mark when the Circuit Court of Mississippi, Fifteenth Circuit District, plans to sit. They name no party, room, judge, or live case setting.
| 2026 Lamar term | Scheduled length |
|---|---|
| Second Monday in January | Three weeks |
| Second Monday in February | Three weeks |
| Fifth Monday in March | One week |
| First Monday in April | Two weeks |
| First Monday in May | Three weeks, Grand Jury noted |
| First Monday in June | Three weeks |
| Third Monday in July | Three weeks |
| Fifth Monday in August | Two weeks |
| First Monday in October | Two weeks |
| Second Monday in November | Two weeks |
Term dates make useful context for a Lamar County court schedule, mainly when a notice names the Circuit Court but leaves out a daily assignment. They do not replace the docket. Cases get set, continued, or resolved outside the window a multiweek term suggests. So confirm the individual setting in the right court before you arrange travel.
For in-person confirmation, the Lamar County street-view page offers a courthouse orientation image. When a setting needs counter confirmation, go to the court named in the case. Never assume every Lamar County proceeding meets in one office.
That courthouse view helps with location only. It publishes no Lamar County court schedule and proves nothing about where a matter will be heard on a given day.
Lamar County Court Date Lookups
PAMEC may hold case-specific Lamar County court date information for eligible, non-restricted MEC cases once you register an account. It is not a free anonymous calendar. Docket sheets and notices can appear there, so read the newest entry before trusting any date. The PAMEC non-attorney terms spell out its access boundary.
- Identify the court and collect the exact case number, case code, party name, and any recent notice or order.
- Check the Secretary of State term calendar for Circuit or Chancery context, then use PAMEC only when the case and court are eligible for its account-based access.
- Call the Circuit Clerk for Circuit or County Court, the Chancery Clerk for Chancery, or Justice Court for a Justice setting. Ask for the next setting, judge, location, and whether a reset controls.
- If needed, confirm at the proper counter or send a mailed request for docket or calendar information. Ask about copies, payment, and any local request procedure before mailing.
- For Purvis, Sumrall, or Lumberton municipal matters, contact the city clerk or municipal court. No public calendar-search form was located for those cities.
The Circuit Clerk is Martin Hankins, 203 Main Street, Purvis, MS 39475, P.O. Box 369, Purvis, MS 39475, (601) 794-8504. Justice Court sits at 205 Main Street, Suite A, Purvis, P.O. Box 1010, (601) 794-2950. A mailed request works when no live calendar exists. The county pages state no turnaround time.
Lamar Chancery Court Schedule Rhythm
Lamar belongs to the Tenth Chancery District. The 2026 Chancery Court and Terms calendar sets the Lamar term from the first business day of each month through the last. A chancellor typically sits less than three weeks monthly. At least one week falls in March, July, and December.
The county's Chancery Clerk page describes court held two weeks each month. It convenes at 9:00 a.m. Treat these as operating patterns, not a named-party setting. Jamie Aultman keeps the Chancery case files. Aultman can confirm a hearing date, its location, and any order that changed it.
Court Settings: What Each Field Means
Treat a Lamar County court setting as facts, not proof. A hearing listed is not a hearing held. A docket may pair a status label, a setting label, and a later notice. Note the source date too. Then a term calendar, docket entry, and clerk response can be compared. No single one counts as the result.
| Court and county | Identifies the court that owns the setting and distinguishes Circuit, Chancery, Justice, County, or municipal calendars. |
|---|---|
| Date and time | The scheduled day and time. A recurring court time is not a case-specific appointment. |
| Judge and location | The presiding judge and courtroom or hearing location when published or confirmed. |
| Term and case number | The larger session period and the exact case identifier used to connect the setting to one matter. |
| Case code and setting label | The case category and purpose, such as arraignment, plea, trial, hearing, or sentencing. |
| Status and reset note | Any pending flag, continuance, cancellation, or newer setting notice that may change the date. |
| Source date | When the docket, notice, calendar, or clerk response was issued or checked. |
Lamar County Justice Court Schedule
The official Lamar County Justice Court page lists Tuesday misdemeanor pleas at 10:00 a.m. and Tuesday misdemeanor trials at 1:30 p.m. The court also handles county-level traffic, misdemeanor, preliminary, bond, and related matters. Those hours show the court's rhythm. They do not give a complete individual-case calendar.
Never assume a misdemeanor lands on the next Tuesday. Call Justice Court with the citation or case number and ask for the current entry. A Purvis, Sumrall, or Lumberton municipal case belongs to the city court route instead, even when it looks like a Justice Court matter.
The Lamar County events calendar is an official county surface, but it carries no public court-docket grid for named cases. That is exactly why a clerk or the current docket stays the better source for a case setting.
Read the county events display as a general county calendar. It is no confirmation of a Lamar County Justice Court hearing.
When a Court Date Moves
Court dates in Lamar County shift for all sorts of reasons. A continuance, a reset, a cancellation, or a later order can each move a setting. The Fifteenth Circuit MEC CourtInfo page posts flags such as Arraignment Pending, Plea Pending, Trial Pending, For Sentence, and General Continuance. Those labels help you decode docket language. They do not confirm a hearing date or an outcome.
So what controls? The newest docket entry, the notice, or a confirmation from the clerk. A General Continuance flag sometimes shows up before any new date does. Never back into a replacement date by counting from a Circuit term, the Chancery monthly pattern, or the Justice Court Tuesday docket. Ask the clerk which entry or order currently governs the case.
Lamar County MEC Schedule Boundaries
Lamar Circuit and County Court joined MEC on November 4, 2019, per Fifteenth Circuit CourtInfo. CourtInfo gives you metadata and a helpful status vocabulary, but it is not a free results grid. PAMEC is the public layer where eligible docket sheets, notices, and documents live, once you register and where access is not restricted.
- Term
- A period when a court is scheduled to sit. It is not a list of all hearings.
- Setting
- A scheduled event for a particular case, such as a plea, trial, hearing, or sentencing.
- General Continuance
- A MEC flag that can signal a postponed matter; look for a later docket entry or clerk confirmation.
- For Sentence
- A MEC status label suggesting a sentencing-related stage, not a confirmed time or final disposition.
Lamar County publishes no anonymous daily court schedule. The account gate, term PDFs, county counters, phones, and mailed requests each serve a different purpose, so treat them as separate channels.
Missed Settings and What Comes Next
Missed a Lamar County setting? Call the clerk for the court named in the case right away. Ask which docket entry, notice, order, warrant, or new setting controls now. Have your case number and the missed date in hand. The clerk can point you to the right court record. An attorney can advise you on the case itself.
Missed a setting? Do not rely on a recurring schedule or an older notice to decide what happens next.
Call the Circuit Clerk, Chancery Clerk, Justice Court, or the relevant municipal clerk promptly and ask for the latest controlling entry or setting.
Lamar County Federal Calendar Divide
Federal hearing dates live apart from Lamar County state-court terms and PAMEC records. The Southern District of Mississippi runs on PACER and CM/ECF. Bankruptcy matters go through a separate Bankruptcy Court system. Check a federal case number or hearing notice with the right federal court. Never use the Lamar Circuit or Chancery calendar for those.
The Southern District PACER information page lays out that federal access channel. Keep it separate from a Lamar County court schedule. That rule holds even when a federal case touches the county.
The federal PACER screen shows a distinct court-record system, not an arm of the Lamar County state-court docket.
